Youth coaching is a powerful process that gives teenagers the opportunity to recognise and voice their worries, with the support of an objective and non-judgemental mentor. They learn to handle emotions, build social skills and the confidence needed to realise their potential.
This branch of life coaching is very close to my heart. During my career I supported many teenagers, helping them develop life skills and learn how to manage the stresses they encounter on their journey through education.
Prompted by a poem one of my students in Salerno wrote to me -
“you heard my silent cries that no one else heard….”
It struck a chord and I realised that there was a need to create a quality, professional, listening space for teenagers.
Youth coaches do not aim to stand in as parents, teachers or friends. We are there as a support for teens and their families.
